During our Multi-Ethnic STEM Summer Bridge Program, students get a weeklong preview of life in STEM at UD including the New Student Orientation session, course previews of chemistry, physics and calculus, hands-on science and engineering modules, social activities with STEM students and faculty and the opportunity to become familiar with campus.
The STEM Summer Bridge Program is open to all STEM students confirmed to attend UD in the fall semester.

Can’t make it to the STEM Summer Bridge Program on campus?
Incoming first-year engineering and computer science students are encouraged to consider registering for the National Virtual Bridge (NVB) Program.
Through our partnership with NACME, UD students have access to this FREE 5-week virtual summer bridge experience that provides incoming first-year students with a rigorous and supportive environment that helps students build confidence, reinforce foundational skills and increase your potential for success in engineering and computer science disciplines. The experience includes:
- Virtual courses to make sure you are proficient in physics, pre-calculus/calculus, Python programming to ensure your success in these college level courses.
- An engineering design experience.
- Career exploration sessions.
- Professional and student development sessions .
- A $500 stipend to students who successful complete the program.*
Program Commitment
- To ensure students fully benefit from the experience, the NVB Program requires a commitment of 25–30 hours per week over five weeks*. Students should be prepared to participate fully and dedicate time outside of class to homework and content reinforcement.
To take the first step toward an extraordinary academic and professional engineering and computer science journey at the University of Dayton, apply to participate in the National Virtual Bridge Program by May 12th.
- Let us at UD know that you intend to participate by completing this 2-minute Google form.
- Create a NACME Individual Account using your udayton.edu email address.
- Once logged in to your NACME account, view and apply to the National Virtual Bridge Program by no later than May 12, 2025.
