Are you ready for some fun in February? We're planning many events and some with chances to win prizes. There will be an "I am a #UDaytonEngineer" photo contest, the annual E-Week tee shirt (& cookie) giveaway, game night, a live podcast and more!   • This E-Week Design Challenge is brought to you by the non-profit organization Kids Read Now and the Kern Entrepreneurial Engineering Network, KEEN for short.

    Food4Flyers is a student food pantry for UD students who face food insecurity. Drop off your donations at the KL Welcome Desk during E-Week, Feb 21-25!

    E-Week Design Challenge Details

    • The E-Week Design Challenge is open to all engineering students.
    • Teams must consist of 2 or more students.

    Your mission is to design an assistive or automated device to redesign the current rubber banding process (see the video).

    The Challenge will be in 2 phases:

    1. Jan. 14-Feb. 5 — Phase 1: Begins when your team submits an email with your team name and team members' contact information to EngineersWeek@udayton.edu. Teams will present a “proof of concept” to judges on Saturday, February 5.
    2. Feb. 5-26 — Phase 2: Judges will select the top 5 designs to advance, and the teams will fabricate a functioning prototype to demonstrate to the judges.

    Prize Money

    • $2000 for 1st place
    • $500 for 2nd place
    • $250 for 3rd place
    • $150 for 4th place
    • $100 for 5th place
