The School of Engineering would like to invite high school students to enjoy a virtual visit and explore engineering. Dean Eddy Rojas and engineering faculty and students will be available to answer your questions.

  • Join Dean Rojas for a discussion on 'Why study engineering?' and a look at what distinguishes Dayton Engineering.

12:30 - 1:30 p.m.

Your Explore Experience

Join our engineering faculty for an overview of engineering fields and interactive lab demonstrations.

  1. Water Quality and Tough Materials 
    Civil Engineering overview followed by demonstrations in our Water Quality Lab and our Materials Testing Lab.
  2. Materials Science in Food and Medicine
    Chemical Engineering overview followed by a control systems simulation and a polymer encapsulation demonstration.
  3. Artificial Intelligence Imaging and Robotics in Action 
    Computer and Electrical Engineering overview followed by demonstrations from our Vision Lab and Robotics Lab.
  4. Industry 4.0/ Internet of Things
    Engineering Technology overview followed by demonstrations of rapid prototyping, amplitude modulation transmitter circuits and a simulation of distribution networking.
  5. Designing and Analyzing Things that Move (Humans, Robots and Aircraft)
    Mechanical Engineering overview followed by demonstrations in our Biomechanics Lab, Flight Simulator Lab and Mechatronics Lab.

Saturday, November 14. Spend the afternoon taking a virtual deep-dive into the field of engineering. Our dean will provide an overview of engineering, and then, you will choose one engineering discipline to explore in-depth with our faculty. UD engineering students will guide you through the experience!
