No Time Better Than the Present

Nov. 4 – Dec. 7, 2021

No Time Better Than the Present is the University of Dayton’s 2021 Senior Art Exhibition. This collection features works from this year's graduating students from Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Photography and Art Education. From growing up locally in Dayton to all the way overseas, UD’s Art and Design department fostered a new creative community for these students which they will carry with them wherever they go.

This exhibition is named largely in part of the many ups and downs these students have faced over their college experience. This years’ graduating art and design class encompasses just a few dozen of the millions of students across the world who have experienced college through the peak of the pandemic. With how much has gone on and continues to go on, it is difficult to stay focused on the present. Disappointment about the many missed opportunities along with unknowns about future employment and life beyond college are often overwhelming. These struggles, however, do not come without silver linings. The title No Time Better Than the Present is a perfect reminder that life has a way of working itself out and the most important thing we can do is take it one day at a time.

The gallery presentation will start with a reception, from 5-7 p.m., Nov. 4.
