Art and Design

A professional degree program.

A fine arts degree provides an intensive, professional exploration of fine art media. Students develop a portfolio and career plan through an emphasis in ceramics, drawing, painting, printmaking or sculpture.

  • 100%

of all majors complete an intensive three semesters of foundation courses

  • 100%

of students complete visual portfolios for graduation

  • NASAD

accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design

Every March we take the opportunity to recognize outstanding student achievement. Professional artists are invited to jury the show and select awardees.

Fine art students are invited to share their work outside of the University and across the Dayton community through the department's Index Gallery, student run pop-up exhibitions and the annual regional student exhibition at The Contemporary Dayton.

Every year students travel to New York City to visit galleries and museums and explore the work of professional artists.
