Eligible Borrowers
OhioLINK, SearchOhio, and Interlibrary Loan
Courtesy cards are issued at the first-floor Information Point desk to anyone without a UD account. Courtesy cards are effective for one year and may be renewed.
UD alumni currently living in Ohio may receive a free courtesy card. A valid photo ID and proof of current residence, such as a recent bill, must be verified before the card is issued. Marianists can also receive a free courtesy card; identification is required.
State Library of Ohio cardholders can borrow UD items for free by requesting them via OhioLINK. Dayton Metro Library, Greene County Public Library and Washington Centerville Public Library cardholders can borrow UD items using SearchOhio.
All other non-UD visitors may purchase a courtesy card for $50.

There are no overdue fines for library materials, this includes materials borrowed through OhioLINK and the library's media equipment.
All eligible materials will be automatically renewed six times. Items are ineligible for renewal if they have outstanding requests or if a user has reached the renewal limit. Some items such as course reserves and media equipment may also not be eligible for automatic renewal.
It depends. If you received a replacement notice, and then return the item there is no monetary fee. But if you've lost it you will be responsible for the replacement cost. Roesch/OhioLINK materials have a replacement cost of $125.00. Replacement costs for media equipment vary and depend on the item.
If you have a billed item on your library record you will be blocked from checking out items and a registration hold will be placed on your student account.
For questions or replacement alternatives, please call 937-229-4234.
Pay for Lost Materials

All borrowers are liable for fines and processing fees whether or not mailed or emailed notices and invoices are received.
