Borrowing

Library users may borrow books, multimedia, and media equipment with their current University-issued ID (flyer card) or a courtesy card.

In addition to books, magazines, and journals, you can check out media equipment, Kindles, phone chargers, extension cords, and even a button maker!

Media Equipment and More
Students, faculty and staff are eligible to borrow materials from University Libraries as well as alumni and other people who do not have a current account at the university.  Borrowing privileges vary according to borrower status. Questions about borrowing? Contact circdesk@udayton.edu or call 937-229-4234.

Eligible Borrowers
If the library doesn't have what you need or the item you want isn't available, we can request materials from other library through OhioLINK or interlibrary loan.

OhioLINK and Interlibrary Loan

UD Alumni currently living in Ohio may receive a free yearly library card, from the first floor Information Point desk. A valid photo ID, and proof of current residence, such as a recent bill must be verified before card is issued.

Marianists must request a free library card from the first floor Information Point desk. Proper identification required.

Lost or stolen flyer cards should be reported to Campus Card Services as soon as possible at 937-229-2456. You can also mark your card lost by logging in to MY ACCOUNT and marking it "Lost". In the evening or on weekends, lost or stolen cards can be reported to any dining services manager or supervisor. The owner of a lost or stolen ID card is financially responsible for all library materials borrowed on the card before its loss is reported to Campus Card Services.

All borrowers are liable for fines and processing fees whether or not mailed or emailed notices and invoices are received.
