For Visitors
Roesch Library welcomes visitors and visiting scholars with educational and research needs. UD students, staff and faculty have priority for all services and computers.
- Visitors may use library materials in the building.
- In order to borrow library materials for use outside of the building, visitors may purchase a visitor library card for $50 at the first-floor Information Point.
- Dayton Metro Library, Greene County Public Library and Washington-Centerville Public Library cardholders can borrow UD items for free using SearchOhio.
- State Library of Ohio cardholders can borrow UD items for free using OhioLINK.
- Media equipment is unavailable for visitor borrowing.
- Members from OhioLINK institutions must present a valid identification card from their institution in order to borrow materials.
Two computers on the first floor are available to visitors; people conducting library research have priority access to them. Visitor computers have:
- A 90-minute time limit
- Filtered Internet; gaming, streaming and social media websites are blocked
- Access to most of the subscription-based research databases and other resources available from the library website
- Microsoft Office software
Access to subscription-based databases from outside the library is not available to visitors due to licensing agreements.
Visitor printing and copying is not available in Roesch Library. We suggest using Print and Copy Services in Marianist Hall 224.
