Capstone Courses
Putting it All Together
We believe the best way to learn is to learn by doing. During your last semester, you'll take a capstone course specially designed to provide closure to your legal education. You will demonstrate an ability to apply the substantive knowledge and practical skills acquired during your education to real legal problems. Capstone courses provide deeper, substantive material.
In the capstone courses, you will receive a simulated problem that you will solve as if it were occurring in a real work setting. Aspiring property lawyers, for example, may be charged with overseeing all of the legal parameters of a large-scale commercial development complex. Intellectual property students may have to prove they can obtain patents for a multinational pharmaceutical company's breakthrough cancer-fighting drug. And those who wish to advocate for the rights of others may find themselves representing inmates in a civil rights case.
