The Master of Business Analytics (MBAN) program at the University of Dayton is for students interested in moving into this high-demand career area. Business Analytics represents a global growing need with employment opportunities readily available. Businesses and governments depend on the effective use of data through sophisticated analytical techniques. MBAN students at the University of Dayton learn key elements of the analytics process and are exposed to real-world applications.

The program can be completed in about 12-24 months. The curriculum provides intensive analytics coursework as well as a broad view of the analytics professional role.

The MBAN program is a STEM-designated program. Graduates of STEM-designated programs, like our MBAN program, are able to apply for a 24-month extension to their normal 1-year OPT, making for a total of 36 months (3 years).

    Our Program's Philosophy

    The program supports those changing careers or pivoting to new areas. It is designed for students from a wide variety of educational backgrounds as long as they have the interest and aptitude to learn quantitative and technical material, which is taught from scratch. The curriculum comprehensively covers the analytics process reflecting a balance between data handling and analytic methods and between technical and process skills. This is business analytics with a data science flavor. Students develop skills that are valuable to any functional area, organization, or industry thus broadening their opportunities.

    The master’s in business analytics program is designed to accommodate applicants from a variety of academic and professional backgrounds, including those without extensive professional analytics experience. Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
