As a Catholic, Marianist business school, our mission is to prepare students to be business leaders with the ability to employ business knowledge and skills in a manner consistent with Catholic and Marianist values for the benefit of all stakeholders.  We make the following commitments:

Educate the whole person

The School of Business and the University of Dayton (UD) strives to develop and cultivate intellectual, ethical, social, and creative qualities within all our students.

Connect learning and scholarship with leadership and service

UD experiential learning advances active learning and reflective practice focused on real human problems and needs. This engagement with practice occurs inside and outside the classroom, on- and off-campus, as an individual and as part of a team. Opportunities for linking theory to practice occur throughout each of our business programs.

provide an innovative business curriculum

We provide many distinctive experiential learning and leadership opportunities. Here are a few examples:

• As part of a team, manage a multi-million-dollar investment portfolio
• Serve as an officer of a $1M per year student-run business
• Collect and analyze data to make recommendations to companies
• Consult with an organization in need of new business processes
• Start your own business with a startup fund provided

Prepare ethical leaders to succeed in a global environment

All UD SBA majors require a course in business ethics and provide numerous opportunities for students to study abroad. Our BWISE initiative requires all undergraduate students to complete two out of three components in service, international, or experiential education.
