New Faculty Orientation
Welcome to the University of Dayton family!
Welcome to the UD family! We’re excited that you’ll be joining us this fall and have tremendous confidence that your skill, passion, and experience will help advance student learning and work together to fulfill our vision to be a national leader in Catholic higher education.
Your success is important to us, and we appreciate that there is a lot to learn when starting a new position. What resources and information are needed to get off to a fast and successful start at UD? That's the question we asked ourselves when envisioning sessions for our New Faculty Orientation Week.
What is New Faculty Orientation Week?
The purpose of New Faculty Orientation Week is to help incoming faculty quickly get onboarded to the most necessary elements of UD’s community, systems, and support resources. It is also a time for new faculty to get to know one another and current staff and faculty who can help answer questions at any time as you begin and progress in your career at UD.
New Faculty Orientation begins on Monday, August 12, and runs through Wednesday, August 14th. All sessions will be held in person, with no remote attendance options. As indicated on the schedule page, breakfast, coffee, snacks, and lunch will be provided to all participants throughout the week.
Honorarium
Faculty who attend the morning sessions on Monday, August 12, and the sessions held on August 13 and 14 will receive a $250 honorarium.
Attendance will be recorded at each session, and those who earn the honorarium will receive it along with their first or second paycheck.
Registration
To register, please go to the New Faculty Orientation Registration Form. As we approach orientation week, we will provide more details to those who register. In the meantime, please feel free to send any questions about this event to Amy Askren at aaskren1@udayton.edu.
