AlcoholEdu
AlcoholEdu
Course Overview
All incoming students are required to complete three online courses that make up the Community Education Modules. These modules assist students in developing a shared understanding of the values that we embrace as a Catholic Marianist University. Failure to complete all courses in their entirety will result in a hold being placed on the student’s account.
The Center for Alcohol and Other Drugs Resources and Education oversees the implementation of one of these courses, AlcoholEdu. AlcoholEdu is a research-based education program designed to assist students in making healthy decisions regarding alcohol use in college.
AlcoholEdu is comprised of two parts, both must be completed.
- Part I takes about 90 minutes to complete and requires passing an exam.
- There is a mandatory waiting period between Part I and Part II of the course. An automated email will be sent when Part II is ready to be completed.
- Students must complete Part I by the stated deadline to ensure sufficient time for the intersession period and completion of Part II to order to avoid having a hold placed on their student account
- Part II takes about 5 minutes to complete.
Why are students required to take the course?
AlcoholEdu is one aspect of a strategic plan to prevent high-risk drinking, educate students on the effects that alcohol has on the body, and provide resources for students with concerns related to alcohol use.
How do I login?
An email is sent to all students that are required to complete the course. This email includes a link to access the course.
- An email for Sexual Assault Prevention, AlcoholEdu, and Hazing Prevention 101 for Undergraduates will also be sent to students.
If you need assistance accessing AlcoholEdu or did not receive an email invitation, please call 937-229-1233.
What happens if I do not complete the course?
Failure to complete all courses that make up the Community Education Modules (which include AlcoholEdu, Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates, and UDiversity) by the set due date will result in a registration hold being placed on your student account.
To have the hold removed from your account, you must complete all outstanding courses and contact the department that oversees the incomplete courses.
- AlcoholEdu - Center for Alcohol and Other Drugs Resources and Education
- Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates - The Brook Center
- Brave and Bold Dialogues - Multi-Ethnic Education and Engagement Center
- Hazing Prevention 101 - Student Development
Who will see my answers?
