The University of Dayton School of Law offers specialty training programs to help you expand your skills in specific areas of law.


Introductory Intellectual Property Training (LAW 9000)

Designed to help onboard scientific researchers and contracting officers across the research, technology and defense industries, this online training teaches the knowledge and skills necessary for protecting intellectual property and securing data rights. Students will learn how to do their part to help mitigate the loss of their organization’s valuable intellectual property as well as how to secure data rights to their organization’s commercializable inventions. Taught by prominent intellectual property law experts and practitioners, this online training is self-paced, interactive, and chunked into short learning modules. This training also provides frequent formative assessment and immediate feedback to every participant.

Government Employees and Ethics Training

This asynchronous online training provides essential guidance on ethics rules specifically for Department of Defense (DoD) and federal government employees. Covered topics include conflicts of interest, post-government employment restrictions, appropriate engagement with industry, and rules concerning gifts from non-federal entities. Learn at your own pace to ensure compliance and maintain the highest ethical standards in public service.
