Anyone can help prevent suicide by learning the risks, warning signs, and how to intervene. REACH© is the name of the nationally-recognized University of Dayton suicide prevention training program coming from the Ohio State University. This in-person training is designed to help our campus community prevent suicide by teaching faculty, staff and students how to:
Recognize warning signs
Engage with empathy
Ask directly about suicide
Communicate hope
Help suicidal individuals to access care and treatment.
If you are interested in attending a training, please see the training dates and registration links below. The Brook Center only offers trainings to University of Dayton affiliated individuals. Trainings are FREE, two-hours in length, and each participant who completes the session will receive certificates and pins verifying their completion of the program.
If you have any questions about REACH© trainings, please e-mail us at reach@udayton.edu or call The Brook Center at 229-1292 and ask to speak with someone about REACH©.
Please note: We want everyone who attends REACH© training to want to be there! Therefore, we do not allow anyone to mandate this training. If you are being required to attend, and do not want to do so, please contact us at reach@udayton.edu, and we will be happy to help you.
