The knowledge learned and experience gained has been invaluable in my studies and my pursuit of a full-time engineering position after college. I would highly recommend engaging in a co-op experience of any kind.

As a mechanical engineering major at UD, I experienced two beneficial co-op opportunities that helped me to connect the dots between what I was learning in my academics and what I would be working on in a technical position.

Through the cooperative education program at the University of Dayton School of Engineering, Taylor McCarthy, a chemical engineering major from Beavercreek, Ohio, worked for Givaudan Flavor Corporation for three work terms.

This spring’s co-op success story is Faith Loughnane. She is a mechanical engineering graduate from Centerville, Ohio, who accepted a full-time position with L3Harrris in Greenville, Texas, after working for them as a co-op student for four work terms.

Fall 2020's School of Engineering Cooperative Education spotlight student is Nathan Brown: A mechanical engineering major and a future entrepreneur from West Chester, OH, whose journey at the University has been filled with success both inside and outside the classroom.

Junior chemical engineering student, Kristina Merker, enjoyed her fall 2019 co-op opportunity and knows that she definitely picked the right career path.

After working for four work terms with Midmark Corporation, a global manufacturer and supplier of healthcare products and equipment, headquartered in Dayton, Bridget Dues has accepted a full-time engineering position with the company.

In May, at this year's School of Engineering graduation reception, Emily Lazar, civil engineering major, received the Outstanding Cooperative Education Student in Engineering Award of Excellence, and Luke Kilps, industrial engineering technology major, received the Outstanding Cooperative Education Student in Engineering Technology Award of Excellence. Congratulations, Emily and Luke!
