Happy Anniversary UDRI!

Today our organization marks a significant milestone: For 65 years, we have led the way in advancing research and technologies for a better world. From the beginning, we have used cutting edge technologies to help our customers overcome their challenges and achieve their goals. We quickly became known as innovators who deliver solutions that not only support our clients, but ultimately improve the quality of life for all of us.

In the last six and a half decades, we have proudly grown from a staff of 35 to 750 full-time employees, from 20 to nearly 1,400 contracts, and from $1 million to $194 million in annual revenue. We perform more materials research than any other college or university in the nation, a ranking we have held for three years; we rank first in Ohio and fifth nationally for research in manufacturing engineering, and we rank eighth in the nation for federally sponsored engineering research.

And we’ve enjoyed this phenomenal success because of our people. Their hard work, dedication and contributions have made us the outstanding organization we are today, and it is because of them that I see UDRI continuing to achieve even greater heights for decades to come. It may be UDRI’s anniversary, but we are celebrating our amazing researchers, technicians and administrative professionals who have made us the world-class research organization we are today!
