The University of Dayton performed $149.8 million in sponsored research in fiscal year 2018.

92.8 percent performed at the Research Institute
7.2 percent performed in academic departments

91.5 percent of research revenue is from federal sources – DOD, DOE, EPA, NASA, etc.
8.5 percent of research revenue is from state & local governments, business and industry, other universities and foundations.

94 faculty members and 363 graduate and undergrad students were engaged in sponsored research.

*The University of Dayton Research Institute currently employs 592 full-time and part-time, benefits-eligible professional researchers, technicians and administrative staff; 251 are located in offices/labs at WPAFB (204) and other locations outside of the Dayton area (12-17-18).
