University of Dayton, Fiscal Year 2023
The Research Institute performed 95.4% of sponsored research at the University of Dayton, contributing to the University's total of $238.6 million in sponsored research revenue in fiscal year 2023.
- 95% of research was performed for federal agencies – DOD, DOE, EPA, NASA, etc.
- 5% was performed for state & local governments, business and industry, other universities and foundations.
Approximately 168 graduate and undergrad students were engaged in sponsored research.
The University of Dayton Research Institute employs 814 full-time and part-time, benefits-eligible professional researchers, technicians and administrative staff; 54% are located in offices/labs at WPAFB, other Dayton-area off-campus locations, and in bases and offices in five states (12/20/2023).
