First-gen ice cream social April 18

UD is hosting an ice cream social for first-generation college students and those interested in learning about how to support first-generation students 4:30 p.m. Thursday, April 18, in the Roesch Library Gathering Space. Contact Shyra Thomas or Zachary Lewis with questions about resources and support for first-gen students. 

Roger Glass Center for the Arts events

This weekend, the theatre, dance, and performance technology program and the UD Department of Music present “Godspell,” Steven Schwartz’s musical retelling of the Gospel of St. Matthew. Performances are 7:30 p.m. April 19 and 20, and 4 p.m. April 21. Purchase tickets here. The Horvath Annual Juried UD Student Exhibition and “Listen, Choreography and Punctuation, Where has the time gone?;” a collage installation by Rick Griffith, are on display in the art gallery through July 31. Dayton baseball at Day Air Ballpark

The Dayton Flyers baseball team is back at Day Air Ballpark for a night of baseball in downtown Dayton. Come support the Flyers as they take on Eastern Kentucky 7 p.m. Tuesday April 23. Adult tickets are $10 and children 11 and younger are $5. First 400 fans get a free T-shirt. Click here to purchase tickets

Library award winners announced

The University Libraries will honor Lucy Waskiewicz, Rojan K C and Malena Coleman with the 2024 Library Awards. All are welcome to attend the University Libraries Awards and student recognition ceremony at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, in the Gathering Place, Roesch Library. Read more about the honorees

Applications Open for $750 McGrath award

Encourage your students completing a project for a CAP course that engages Catholic Intellectual Traditions in some way to apply for a Fr. Jack McGrath, S.M., award. Projects from the spring, summer and fall 2024 semesters are eligible for the 2025 award. Applications are due Dec. 18. Click here for the application and more details
