Developing Leaders. Developing the Future.
Hone your leadership skills and learn how to be an effective leader in your community through the variety of leadership programs that are available through MEC.
The P.E.E.R.S. (Program to Engage and Exchange Resources for Students) mentor program is dedicated to engaging and empowering first-year students to successfully navigate the college experience. The program is designed to give multicultural students a way to create and maintain meaningful relationships with peers and build a connection to the greater UD community.
The Navigation mentoring program pairs students with faculty, staff, or an alumni who will serve as their Navigation Partner throughout their journey at the University of Dayton. A Navigation Partner can answer questions, be a listening ear, and connect students with resources and opportunities for success.
The Multi-Ethnic Education and Engagement Center and the Enrollment Management division share student positions designed to assist with the retention and recruitment of multi-ethnic students. Academic Success Ambassadors assist with specific recruitment initiatives and events as well as academic success programming as apart of an intentional outreach plan to UD’s diverse student population.
LEAD is a student council comprised of student leaders supported by the Multi-Ethnic Education and Engagement Center (MEC). This group meets monthly to discuss leadership initiatives, current issues within student organizations, and to plan collaborative events.
LEAD's purpose is to increase communication and collaboration between student groups at the University of Dayton. LEAD is another way MEC provides support and guidance for students as individuals and as a collective of student leaders at UD.
