Fall Break can be a time to recharge and explore, but it can also be a wonderful opportunity to engage with the idea of community. Here on campus, community is foundational to our college experience, but that idea of community sometimes does not extend beyond UD. Campus Ministry’s Center for Social Concern has an answer for that!

Have you thought about joining the Catholic Church? The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) process is a journey of personal discovery, faith sharing, and learning about the Catholic Church.

Amidst the hustle and bustle of college life, it can be so difficult to find time to pause and reflect. When I attended the Lighthouse Retreat in spring 2018, I was looking for a break in the busyness, some new people to wave to around campus, and time to pray.

Our Campus Ministry team is here to walk with you and offer support in your own faith journey, so please stop in our offices, get to know us, help us get to know you, and consider engaging in our programs. Help us all taste and see the growth and goodness God has in store for us this academic year! Welcome (back), we are excited and blessed that you are here.

Our natural world is a wonderful gift from God, and it is our duty as Christians to protect it.

The Miryam Award, which is sponsored by Campus Ministry’s Center for Social Concern, is inspired by the many “Marys” of the Old and New Testaments. We are drawn into the desire to express our full selves through the example of Miriam, the prophetess, who, in Exodus, leads the people in a dance of joy upon crossing the Red Sea.

The single liturgical day of the Triduum is marked at distinct times by the various liturgical services, like the Mass of the Lord's Supper or the Good Friday of the Lord's Passion, but the entire time is liturgical. This idea turns upside down how I am often tempted to view my schedule. Whereas I might think of liturgical services as "interrupting" my routine, during the Triduum, the liturgy is the routine and anything else we might need to do interrupts the liturgy.

As you consider your relationship to Jesus this Lent, I invite you to take your emotions to him in prayer. Trust that he understands them, because he has known them. Let Jesus' strength give you hope, that God might bring you new life too, in the ways you need it most.

What would it be like to have a Faith Chat with Jesus as Nicodemus had? Like him, we come with all our possibility and discerning to face with Christ who suffered from evil, but triumphed in love. What will he pull out of our journey of discovery?
