Campus Ministry

Taste and See

By Mike Bennett, Office for Christian Leadership, Vocation and Retreats

This Sunday’s scripture readings call us to embody a love that is constantly growing and changing, alongside our growth as
disciples of Christ. This notion of consistent growth and the beginning of the academic year have provoked me to think about “adaptation and change,” a key characteristic of a Marianist education that calls us as a University community and as individuals to consistently adapt to the gifts, talents, and needs of those around us in response to the trends in our world. I’m pleasantly overwhelmed and excited by the potential for growth and change as we welcome returning students, faculty, and staff who have grown and changed over the course of the summer and even more so as we welcome new students, faculty, and staff to our campus community. All of us bring many diverse gifts that nourish our educational and developmental pursuits both communally and individually.

At the beginning of this academic year may God’s grace guide us to embrace our faith journeys, to share our journeys with others in community, and to adapt to the many gifts, needs, and changes within our campus community this year. May our ability to adapt and change aid us to taste and see the goodness of God and share that goodness with each other.

Our Campus Ministry team is here to walk with you and offer support in your own faith journey, so please stop in our offices, get to know us, help us get to know you, and consider engaging in our programs. Help us all taste and see the growth and goodness God has in store for us this academic year! Welcome (back), we are excited and blessed that you are here.
