The Lighthouse Experience

By Danielle Villhard, '20

Amidst the hustle and bustle of college life, it can be so difficult to find time to pause and reflect. When I attended the
Lighthouse Retreat in spring 2018, I was looking for a break in the busyness, some new people to wave to around campus,
and time to pray.

During the weekend, I found even more than I could’ve imagined. Despite our busy schedules and worries left on
campus, the team encouraged us to relax and spend intentional time with others, sharing laughs, calming worries, and building friendships. Lighthouse offers time to explore spirituality, yourself, and relationships through ritual and
community reflection. We learn to center ourselves by being open to others’ experiences and being vulnerable to our own
experiences. Lighthouse explores life's challenges and seeks the sources of light and hope within those challenges.
The Lighthouse Retreat only lasts a weekend, but it’s just the beginning. The true impact of the experience illuminates a
path to find God’s love in your life and share it with others.

#BWYFA. #YOMB. #LH2018. Do you want to find out what all these hashtags mean and what all the hype is about?
