Father James Phalen, CSC, Announces Mary Garden Contest
I write to let you know that we are moving ahead well with our Mary Garden Contest which we will be conducting from our Museum of Family Prayer, and running through our Social media platforms. We will launch it July 10, 2020, accepting photo entries until August 5, 2020. Then we will announce winners as part of celebrating Mary's Assumption on August 15.
It's really about education and promotion of devotion to Our Lady. We want to encourage people, as well, to be creating and taking care of spaces of peace, prayer, and connection with the Lord with Mary. So please, pray for our contest. More information will be provided soon.

Priest responds to Ricky Martin about the Virgin Mary as "womb for hire" (aciprensa) June 24, 2020
Mons. Leonardo J. Rodríguez Jimenes, pastor of the María Madre de Misericordia parish in the Archdiocese of San Juan (Puerto Rico), responded to statements of singer Ricky Martin that in an interview he compared the Virgin Mary with a womb for hire….
Also the Vicar for the national sanctuary of Our Lady of Providence, patron saint of Puerto Rico, Monsignor explained in his article that "Mary did not lend her body or her womb to God; First, because the body is a gift from God, ultimately it is not ours, but His, as well as the spirit and soul. "When the Virgin Mary said 'behold the handmaid of the Lord', she gave herself totally to God, not to do her capricious will, but to fulfill the saving will of God. There is a big difference between that and what Mr. Martin affirms," continued the priest who also serves as executive secretary of the Archdiocesan Liturgy Commission and the National Liturgy Commission….
