Mary's Life on Holy Cards
Many of these never before seen items have been curated from the Marian Library’s collections of tens of thousands of Catholic holy cards including selections from the Auguste Martin Collection and Christine Mathieu Collection. Through these rare and unique holy cards, the exhibit documents events in the life of the Blessed Virgin Mary. In addition to documenting various depictions of Mary’s life, the exhibit also speaks to the history of Catholic material culture and devotion to the Blessed Virgin. The items featured in the exhibit span from the 18th through 21st centuries and represent a small but important sample of the library’s vast collections. Can’t make it to the exhibit?
