2020 Bombeck workshop faculty Joel Madison

Joel Madison, who started his career as a stand-up comedian, has been a professional comedy writer for nearly 30 years. He has worked in almost every form of television writing — scripted 30-minute and hourlong shows, animation, late night, variety and reality — as well as feature films. Most recently, he was a consulting producer on the HBO comedy series Crashing. Joel's body of work includes "created by" credits for several TV shows, and he won the prestigious Peabody Award for his work on the original Roseanne sitcom. He teaches television scriptwriting at the Columbia College Chicago program in Los Angeles.
