Program Outcomes

Upon completing the FIRST Program Requirements and the FIRST Program Expectations, students will be able to

• Identify and select appropriate learning strategies and resources for completing coursework and for developing effective learning and studying practices
• Identify their interests and passions and articulate how those interests/passions can be integrated into their academic and career pursuits
• Reflect on how past and present experiences influence their approaches to learning
• Articulate the ways others' experiences with learning and being a student are similar to or different from their own
• Advocate for themselves, by asking for help and communicating concerns, when they encounter academic or personal challenges
• Communicate with faculty and staff regarding academic and personal issues
• Navigate university processes including advising and registration
• Support members of the FIRST community through developed materials or mentorship
