Veteran Affiliated Graduate Assistantship

David L. Poff, Veteran Graduate Assistantship

Open 3 Year Veteran / Military GA Position at University of Dayton

Please complete the Information Request form for more info.

Beginning Fall 2022, we will launch a three-year Graduate Assistant position. Students who plan to complete a graduate degree in less than three years are also welcome to apply. This position is an excellent opportunity for those with or without existing education benefits. This is a philanthropist funded position.  Flexibility in writing our GA contract allows the GA candidate to accept a combination of Tuition Allotment and Graduate Stipend or to waive the Tuition Allotment in favor of a higher graduate stipend, if alternative tuition funding is being used.

Students of any academic program are welcome to apply; however, Communication, Public Administration and Higher Education are preferred graduate programs of study. A full listing of UD graduate programs can be located at udayton.edu/academics/programs.php by selecting "Graduate" from the drop-down menu. To be accepted for the GA position, the student must be accepted to both the academic program and the GA position.  At a minimum, candidates for the graduate assistantship should be veterans or active service members - or the spouse, surviving spouse, child, or parent of a veteran. First preference will be given to a veteran, active service member, or Gold Star child or spouse. This is primarily an on-site position. University of Dayton is located nearby to Wright Patterson Air Force Base and the sprawling Dayton Veterans Affairs hospital and benefits complex.

Applicants should email ssurowitz1@udayton.edu with "David L. Poff, Veteran, Graduate Assistantship" in the subject line for additional information or to apply. Please cc vetservices@udayton.edu. Interested individuals are encouraged to reach out to discuss the opportunity prior to their application to an academic program.
