Learn, Lead, Serve: Share your Sustainability Passion

Join Neighborhood Composting or the Green Ambassadors, host a Zero Waste Event, find a home for Surplus furniture and equipment, support campus pollinator prairies, or learn the latest on Recycling, Move-Out, and reducing your carbon footprint.

The University of Dayton's commitment to the common good calls on all members of the campus community to work towards a more just and sustainable world. Complete the form linked below to share your interest in learning, leading, or serving with the Energy and Sustainability team. Students, faculty, and staff are all welcome. There's something for everyone.

Campus Garden

The campus garden is a half acre space located less than a mile from the UD main campus at Old River Park. In 2022, the garden produced over 1200 pounds of veggies, herbs, and berries.

The garden team welcomes partners and volunteers from across campus. The partnerships are growing to include campus academics, Dining Services, the Brook Center, and the Flyers Farmers' Market. Faculty, staff, and students are all welcome!

Sustainability Lunch and Learns

Join us for a Sustainability Lunch and Learn. Each semester in partnership with the Faculty/Staff Wellness Program we offer an easy way for you to expand your sustainability knowledge. With presenters from faculty, staff, students, and experts in the Dayton community, we cover topics from old growth forests to campus geology, reducing your carbon footprint to getting starting with solar, and more. Check out our latest offerings: UD Wellness Program Lunch and Learn Series. Health Activity Tracker points available.

Zero Waste Events

Want to host a zero waste event for your club, meeting, or celebration? A zero waste event, big or small, supports UD in meeting its waste reduction goals and diverts waste to second uses through recycling and composting. Follow our Zero Waste event planning guide for ways to make your event zero waste.
