International Women’s Day to Celebrate Global Sisterhood

Thursday, March 8 marks the annual celebration, International Women’s Day (IWD), a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. This day serves as an international acknowledgement of the ways women continue to shape the world, in profound ways. Thus the day is about unity, celebration, reflection, advocacy and action, whether that’s at a global or  local level.

This year, we invite you to join us for the new Global Sisterhood Reception on March 8 from 3:00-4:30pm in the KU Torch Lounge. A collaborative effort between the Center for International Programs and the Women’s Center, we look forward to honoring the ways women at University of Dayton have contributed to our global community, in sisterhood and connection. Community partners from Dayton will be featured, as well as an interactive piece on creating sisterhood, together. As well, five students will be recognized for their global contributions to campus.

Refreshments and h’orderves will be provided, and all are encouraged and welcome to attend. RSVP’s are encouraged, but not required, at cip@udayton.edu.
