Ode to Zoom

Here amidst the doom and gloom

Is a modern miracle that we call Zoom.

Due to technophobia and age

When it comes to Zoom, I am no sage.

I let others take control,

Participation is my only role.

It has become quite the treat,

Finally having a chance to meet

With friends and family and colleagues, too;

Some relationships feel brand new.

I‘ve heard some lectures, seen comedy shows,

And I can mute myself so nobody knows.

I’ve gone to temple, seen films and talks;

Sometimes I Zoom when I’m out on my walks.

If anything good comes from the abyss

It’s getting to see the people I miss.

So let’s thank Eric Yuan, who in 2011

Invented Zoom, like a gift from Heaven.
