Applying her wit and humor to marriage and family life, award-winning columnistLisa Smith Molinarishares her real-life family's humorous coming-of-age story, from marriage through raising kids to empty nest, in her first book, The Meat and Potatoes of Life: My True Lit Com.

Since the pandemic has cancelled book launch events, she's "pivoted" and is recording amusing "Ponderings From the Pantry" videos as part of a virtual launch.

In her book, Lisa recounts how she leaves her law career to become a Navy wife and Supermom, but somewhere between "I do" and "deploying again," waves of chaos threaten to overtake her. She has a husband who knows his Chardonnay but can't identify a Phillips-head screwdriver; three quirky kids with their own agendas; a perpetually shedding dog; and a minivan full of cold French Fries. In other words, everything she could ever want, and possibly more than she can handle.

Bruce Cameron, New York Times' bestselling author of A Dog's Purpose, calls the memoir "a wry and lighthearted journey through the seasons of family life." The memoir is based on Lisa's syndicated award-winning weekly newspaper column, "The Meat and Potatoes of Life."

In 2018, Lisa's print column won first place honors in the National Society of Newspaper Columnists Annual Contest. In 2013, Lisa's blog won second place in NSNC's annual contest and was a finalist in the Robert Benchley Society Annual Humor Writing Contest. Lisa's writing made WordPress' "Freshly Pressed" list three times, and her blog was voted a Top Military Family Blog, Top Parents of Teens Blog and Top Military Mom Blog onCircle of Mom'swebsite.

She's the past president of the National Society of Newspaper Columnists.
