Maybe Kevin

Brian Kiley, head monologue writer for Conan O'Brien, has published his second novel, Maybe Kevin (HumorOutcasts Press). He's also the author of The Astounding Misadventures of Rory Collins.

He has been nominated for 16 Emmy Awards and he is the winner of the 2007 Emmy Award for Writing in a Comedy/Variety Series. For 25 years, he's written for Conan O'Brien.

In addition, he's appeared numerous times on "Late Show with David Letterman," "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" and "The Tonight Show." He's been featured in his own Comedy Central half-hour special, and his jokes have appeared in Reader's Digest, Prevention Magazine and GQ. Much to his surprise, he was even featured in The New York Times Sunday crossword puzzle. (He has never completed said puzzle.) He regularly performs stand up at clubs in LA.

"If a novel is a map to emotions, Maybe Kevin (part Faulkner, part "How I Met Your Mother") takes you on a compelling trip, teasing you with the truth, all while excavating the layered reality of a family. It left me sobbing. But the good kind of sobbing, where you also feel relieved," says comedian Wendy Liebman. "I sat down to read a chapter but instead read the whole thing and cried like a baby. Surgically constructed art with words, Maybe Kevin is a masterpiece. Whether a joke or a novel, Brian Kiley is my favorite writer. I'll read all the words he puts together."

Jane said at the same time, also raising her hands. "Could you please p ...

An adult diaper on the 8-hour, trans-Atlantic flight from Rome to Minneapolis with a Christmas day stop in Chicago. I was in seat 5B snuggled in between my newly minted husband and my dad. This, my friends, is what romantic dreams are made of. We had arrived in Rome eleven days earlier. Wearing my first ever outfit from Lululemon because until this point, I had been way too cheap to fork over more than ...
