Leigh Anne Jasheway

Leigh Anne Jasheway is a stress management and humor expert, comedy writer, stand-up comic and comedy instructor/coach.

"I have an M.P.H. degree, which either stands for master's of public health or mistress of public humor (and, occasionally, miles per hour, but only if I've had too many espressos). In lieu of actually getting a real job, I consult with organizations (and disorganizations) on how to use humor to manage stress, change and conflict and boost creativity, teamwork and morale," said Leigh Anne, who speaks to between 40 and 60 groups annually.

She has published 25 books, and her work has appeared in more than a dozen anthologies. She regularly writes for Writer's Digest and teaches its online comedy writing classes.

In 2003, she won the Erma Bombeck Writing Competition for humor, "which probably explains why I have laugh lines on my face, my stomach, and oddly, my pancreas."

Every spring, she organizes an annual comedy benefit, the Laff Off, and every fall, she coordinates the annual Northwest Women's Comedy Festival.

In her spare time, she said, "I hot flash."
