Marsha Keune appointed new SBA Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs

This fall returning students, staff and faculty will welcome Marsha Keune, Associate Professor of Accounting, as newly appointed Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs in the School of Business Administration (SBA). Keune replaces outgoing Associate Dean Randy Sparks, who returned full-time to the Marketing faculty after four years in the administrative post.

Keune joined the School of Business Administration faculty in August of 2014, attaining tenure in 2019. She served as chair of the Department of Accounting for the past year, a year which saw significant change in the SBA. Dean John Mittelstaedt passed away following a long illness last December, and Interim Dean Trevor Collier was appointed in January.

Keune is ready to take on the special challenges of joining the SBA leadership team at this time. She recently commented on the record-setting growth in the SBA Undergraduate program over the last decade, adding, “I attribute this progress to our talented team of faculty and staff, as well as the array of relevant experiential learning opportunities that we offer our students.”

Upon announcing Keune’s appointment, Interim Dean Collier praised her years of service to the School and the University, which reaches beyond campus to impact business partnerships and the accounting profession. “Marsha will continue to drive innovative changes to our business curriculum,” he said, “and help us maintain cutting-edge technology use within all our undergraduate programs.”

During the pandemic, the faculty, staff and students in the SBA faced many unforeseen challenges and demonstrated with remarkable flexibility that together, we can overcome and rise above the most daunting obstacles. Keune is proud to have been part of this work so far. “I look forward to building on the many assets of the SBA to continue to provide a uniquely-UD experience for our students.”
