Core Program Goes Social
The University of Dayton Core program is starting a social media presence with a Facebook page.
Facebook will give Core a platform to profile students and publicize program news and events. Core also plans to use the new page to strengthen outreach to alumni and other campus departments and constituents.
Facebook remains the most widely used social media platform as a source for news, according to Pew Research Center, with about 66 percent of all Internet users in the U.S. using the platform.
The Core program is a challenging two-and-a-half year curriculum that stresses connections between academic disciplines. Courses center around a common theme, “Human Values in a Pluralistic Culture,” and fulfill many of the University’s Common Academic Program requirements. Co-curricular speakers, arts and cultural events related to course content also are important parts of the program.
Each year, about 130 first-year students from the University's four undergraduate schools join Core. Students can earn up to 15 Honors credits by successfully completing a series of Core program courses.
Please join the social conversation by “liking” the University of Dayton Core program on Facebook.
