The RiverMobile: A Mobile Learning Studio
Education remains a dedicated area of focus for the Rivers Institute. We offer the RiverMobile, a mobile learning studio. This 53-foot tractor-trailer travels to schools and communities throughout the Great Miami River Watershed. Four uniquely fabricated classrooms deliver an experiential education that enables the exploration of our watershed, history, aquifer, rivers, and our global responsibility, all in one place.
While this experience is generally geared toward middle school students, it presents a message and a medium that is appealing to learners of all ages. Select the "RiverMobile Request Form" below to start the process of bringing the RiverMobile to your group of learners.
The Rivers Institute is pleased to announce that in 2019 our RiverMobile Solar Design Plan will become a reality. After three years of partnership with students and faculty from the School of Engineering Innovation Center, ETHOS and the Hanley Sustainability Institute, the RiverMobile is moving into its second phase and going green. This Solar Design Plan and instillation will also enhance our RiverMobile curriculum by providing a platform to promote renewable energy and sustainability. Thanks to the continued and ongoing support from the College of Arts and Sciences, the RiverMobile will soon be retro-fitted with a battery bank and solar film to have the capability to operate 100% on alternative energy.
Please contact the Rivers Institute if you wish to learn about our other educational outreach initiatives.

The 2020 cohort of River Stewards is pleased to present Into the River. A children’s book geared for 3rd graders, Into the River takes you on an adventure through the Great Miami River. On this page, you will find the book and activities to take your own journey into the river. The creation of this story was a journey in itself.
