Our Lady of She-Shan, Shanghai Diocese -During the month of May, Chinese Catholics pilgrims visit this Marian Shrine located in the She-Shan Basilica, Shanghai Diocese. Her feast day comes on May 24. Since May 16, 2008, Pope Benedict XVI has named her, Mother of China, and created prayers for this feast day.

Mary, Mother of Sorrows - This wooden statue of Mary is a work of Brother Lei Meng-Gene. It is located at the Marian Shrine of Yanshui, Tainan, Taiwan. Sister Hsieh Erl-Ling uses the Chinese character of Love to illustrate how Mary, the Mother, and the Child, Jesus, are united in love for humanity. She paints the interior character of heart as the dwelling place of the manger. Indeed, it is a symbol of holy love.

Sister Hsieh Erl-Ling uses the English word, Love, to illustrate a manger, God's love. The letter 'L' is Mary's loving arms. The letter 'L' gives thanks and praise for the pure love of Jesus and Mary. The letter 'V' is the manger where the infant Jesus is asleep. Inside the manger, the letter 'e' symbolizes God's love for everyone. This crèche also wants to show the harmony between heaven, humans, and earth. Jesus, who was born in a manger, died on a cross. This great spirit of Love tells us how great is God's love is for everyone, and how God continues to love and protect us. God is love forever living and reigning on this earth.

In 2009, the Catholic Church in Taiwan celebrated 150 years of evangelization and the erection of the Marian shrine in Pingtung, Wangchin. There was a festive and well-attended ceremony on November 20, 2009.
