Profile

Dr. Hoffmann serves as the Group Lead of the Environmental Microbiology Group within the UDRI Fuels & Combustion Division. Dr. Hoffmann is a Research Scientist with expertise in Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Toxicology, Analytical Chemistry, and metabolomics/proteomics-based Mass Spectrometry. Dr. Hoffmann oversees the Aviation Fuel Microbial Research Program including the testing and mitigation of biocontamination, the development of synthetic biology applications to generate novel high energy fuel compounds, and bio-derived enzymatic and molecular tools.
