Center for Catholic Education at UD

Meet the Staff: Ava
This semester we are so excited to welcome Ava Gravino to the CCE staff! Ava is a psychology major with love of service and community, making her a great fit for supporting our local Catholic schools.
What do you do at the Center for Catholic Education?
I am a student worker at the CCE, supporting both ECHO and Lalanne with projects. I also assist in creating blog posts and designs.
Tell us a little about yourself and what led you to work at the Center?
I grew up experiencing both Catholic and public education. I have always felt connected to the values of Catholic education. Working for the CCE allows me to express my passion for service. I enjoy creative work and planning projects to contribute to the community.
Describe your family.
Family is incredibly important to me. My immediate family consists of my younger brother and my two loving parents. I have a ton of relatives on both sides of the family, many of which went to UD! Our favorite family activities include making homemade wine and movie nights.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I enjoy running, being with friends, art, music, and exploring new places.
Why do you support Catholic education?
Catholic education offers high quality education that goes beyond exams and class material. The Catholic faith also emphasizes the importance of vocation. I believe vocation can be exercised through community. Catholic education creates a community for the family to flourish and grow in faith and learning.
Tell us three fun facts about you.
- I am a music junkie.
- I have been to Cuba.
- My favorite activity is paddle boarding.
