Initial Phase Site Diagram

Depending on local economic conditions, the initial phase could take 10+ years. This phase would establish the core infrastructure, linking with streets in the existing neighborhood and continuing Wyoming Street to connect with South Patterson Boulevard. A mix of employment, housing, retail and other uses would start to develop along Main and Stewart streets. A site for a community garden and public greenspace would be located on the western edge. The Roundhouse would connect to Main Street with greenspace and an events plaza.

Buildout Phase Site DiagramFull buildout of the site will take time and depend on market demand and conditions, key partnerships with investors and other institutions, and success of the initial phase. Buildout would increase housing and employment, maintain active public spaces and integrate emerging technology and wellness into the site.

Canal Park Stormwater Amenity

As part of the sustainability infrastructure, the plan envisions an innovative community space to control and manage stormwater on the site of the old canal. A traditional approach uses catchbasins and hidden pipes, but this “green” infrastructure will rely on natural systems to retain, treat and filter rainfall. Located on the southwest corner of onMain, the stormwater greenspace would also include pedestrian and bike paths to connect Stewart Street and South Patterson Boulevard.
