I'm Javana Joyce (she/her) - a current Master of Social Work (MSW) student at the University of Cincinnati and a Licensed Social Worker (LSW). I am a proud first-generation college student, a biracial woman, and a member of the LGBTQ+ community. College can be an extremely stressful time as learning to balance so many new things is not always easy, so I am honored to be working with students to help them navigate difficult times. My clinical experience includes working in substance use and mental health. I chose the field of social work because of my passion for social justice and for the profession's holistic view of people's well-being. I often use a strengths-based approach to encourage individuals to see their positive attributes and not just the negative ones, and to empower them in their treatment.

In my free time, I can be found listening to true crime podcasts, reading a fiction novel, or binge-watching a tv series.
