Sandra G. Zimmerle is Fighter & Bomber Branch Chief, to the Acquisition Law Division of the Air Force Materiel Command Law Office (AFMCLO/JANA) at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. She leads a team of seven acquisition attorneys and paralegals who provide expert legal support to all fighter and bomber programs of the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) and AFLCMC’s new business development office, the C-17 and KC-46A, the Air Force Security Assistance Cooperation Directorate for AFLCMC’s Foreign Military Sales portfolio and the National Museum of the United States Air Force.

Sandra G. Zimmerle has worked in federal acquisition for more than thirty years. Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, Sandra graduated from Kent State University in 1975 with a Bachelors of Art Degree. In June, 1983, Sandra graduated with a Juris Doctor Degree from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law and a Masters of Business Administration from Cleveland State University. She was admitted to the Ohio Bar in May, 1984. Sandra began her USAF career as a Contract Specialist at Tinker AFB, OK in January, 1984 and her legal career in August, 1986 as a General Attorney with the Air Force Contract Law Center, now the Air Force Materiel Command Law Office, at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH. Sandra has experience in all aspects of major weapon systems and operational acquisitions, contract administration and research and development and is a recognized expert in foreign military sales, intellectual property, fiscal law, competitive source selections and protests.
