Profile

After growing up in rural Ohio, Julie Gee wanted to experience everything our diverse world has to offer. Her love of learning about cultures and languages evolved into a career of teaching English as a second language. After experiencing many successes and failures learning another language, she is able to pass on effective language learning strategies to her students.

She now has over a decade of experience providing student-centered language instruction to students of all ages and backgrounds. She has taught abroad in South Korea, the Dominican Republic as well as several schools in Chicago and Ohio. She has also taught various TEFL certificate programs and teacher workshops to help train ESL teachers.

She has been an instructor in the Intensive English Program at University of Dayton since 2012. In addition to teaching courses, she enjoys participating in UD programs for international students such as the International Festival and Friendship Families Program.
