Profile

Adrian coordinates logistics for semester-integrated Faculty-Led Programs taking place in May and during the spring and winter breaks. He works closely with faculty to prepare budgets, plan program events, and execute education abroad & away programs.

Adrian’s exposure to global cultures began at a young age. He lived with his family in Germany for a year, where he attended a public school. His experiences during this year sparked a lifelong interest in other languages and cultures as ways of experiencing the world. Adrian earned his B.A. in German from the University of Evansville, with a minor in Japanese. He studied abroad in both Germany and Japan. He went on to earn his PhD in German from Vanderbilt University, writing a dissertation that focused on the resonance between the works of Friedrich Nietzsche and U.S.-American superhero comics. During the course of his research, he had the opportunity to visit and work with several archives and museums in Germany and Switzerland.

When he isn’t at his desk, Adrian enjoys swimming, cycling, and hiking. He is equally happy with a book or a controller in his hands, and enjoys exploring local breweries and eateries.
