Profile
Courtney has been an instructor in the Intensive English Program since January 2013. Over that time she has taught a variety of classes ranging from true beginners to advanced. Prior to coming to Ohio, she taught English as a Second Language (ESL) at California State University Long Beach, Southern State University and for the Los Angeles Unified School District.
While studying Environmental Science at Universidad de Tabasco, Mexico, she worked as a teaching assistant in the English department and volunteered with an indigenous women’s group. She has always been interested in learning languages and other cultures, and prior to teaching, she worked as a travel agent and study abroad advisor. Her overseas experience includes teaching in China, studying in Mexico & Costa Rica, and living & working in several countries in Europe and the South Pacific region.
