Profile

Soprano Maya Vansuch Wurth is a native of Dayton, Ohio, and was most recently seen with the Dayton Opera as Katie in the world premiere of Finding Wright by Laura Kaminsky, as well as Annina in La Traviata, also with the Dayton Opera.

Maya was an Artist-in-Residence with the Dayton Opera for their 2019-20 season. As an Artist-in-Residence, Maya sang as soprano soloist in The Messiah and was seen as Clorinda in La Cenerentola, as well as performing in the opera’s school outreach program. Following her residency, Maya participated in the DPAA Summer Streams series, performing a recital with pianist John Benjamin, as well as singing in A Celebration from Carillon Historical Park. Other recent roles include Najade in Ariadne auf Naxos with the IU Opera Theatre, the title role in Patience with the University Gilbert and Sullivan Society, and Mabel in The Pirates of Penzance with the University Gilbert and Sullivan Society.

Maya received her Bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance from Indiana University, studying under Alice Hopper.
