What do you love most about UD?

One of the things I love most about UD would be The Neighborhood. Our student neighborhood is unlike any thing I have ever been a part of. The way that everyone is able to live together, on campus, has been so engaging and fun. It has been an incredible way to meet people and make lifelong friends. It allows the students to come together as one in a way that is totally unique to UD. With that said, one of the other things I love most about UD is the school spirit. Everyone you meet that goes here, or works here, or went here, absolutely loves UD. Even when I am home in St. Louis and I meet someone that went to UD, they just rave about it. The love of this school is something that brings everyone, who has ever been a part of it, from all over the country, together in such a fun and unique way.

Favorite class at UD and why?

I think my favorite class at UD has been my Introduction to Psychology class. It was ultimately the class that helped me be sure of my decision to pick Psychology as my major. I loved my Professor, Dr. Dixon. He was actually one of the best teachers I have ever had. He made the class so enjoyable, interesting and, honestly, just fun. The class itself introduced me to a broad range of psychology topics and helped me decided what classes I want to take in the future.

Why did you choose UD?

There are a lot of reasons I chose UD. The campus itself is beautiful. I love the way most students actually live on campus all four years, either in dorms, in campus apartments or campus houses. I had never seen a school where all of the students live together in one neighborhood like UD. The Discover Arts and Sciences Program was also a big part of my decision. I liked that I didn't have to be declared as a freshman in order to succeed and be on track to graduate in four years. I had time to decide what I wanted to do. I think the biggest reason I chose UD was because of the community. The group of people that make up the community of UD are some of the most welcoming, friendly, fun and just kind community I have ever been a part of.

Is there anything else about your UD experience you think prospective students and their families should know?

I recently declared Psychology as my major. Until now, I have been a Discover Science student. With that said, I think my favorite thing about the Discover Science Program was the variety of courses I was able to take while still getting credit toward my degree. I was able to take a variety of math and science courses that actually go toward my B.S. Degree for Psychology. I was also about to take a creative writing course, a business course and an academic writing course, all of which counted as CAP courses and helped me figure out what major I actually wanted to go into.
