What do you love most about UD?

I really love how attentive all the professors are at UD. The smaller class sizes allow for individual attention from the teachers, and every teacher wants all their students to succeed. UD faculty are always more than willing to assist students who need additional help or clarification. All my professors have been so helpful and are so passionate about their subjects that it makes me passionate about them, too.

What do you like most about your major?

I love studying rhetoric and literature. I believe learning how to persuasively use language is the most important skill you can learn at college. Additionally, I think it is really fun to discuss and analyze impactful works of literature.

Favorite class at UD and why?

My favorite class is Shakespeare with Dr. Mendoza. I have always loved Shakespeare, and I was excited for the opportunity to study his works in more detail. I learned a lot about literary analysis and I got to study plays I would never have thought to read before. This class made me confident that majoring in English was the right decision.

What clubs/organizations are you involved in at UD?

  • Mock Trial
  • Core

Why did you choose UD?

I chose UD partly because of the many scholarship opportunities and the large amount of high school classes they offer credit for. But the Core program was what really put UD above other schools for me. The chance to study history, philosophy, religion and english all as one course sounded super amazing and unique, and the classes did not disappoint. I cannot imagine attending college and not learning what I learned about in Core.
