What do you like most about your major?

My favorite part about studying Political Science is I have developed a greater understanding of the world around me. I love learning about how politics affect everyday life, as well as the intersections between different, seemingly unrelated issues in the world and how to make change.

What do you love most about UD?

I love the opportunities. UD has a multitude of programs for any major and interest. Because of the real-world experiences I have the opportunity to partake in, I now have a greater understanding of the things I am studying and how to apply that when I leave UD. I have had the most life-changing experiences to aide in my future career that I wouldn't have had anywhere else.

Favorite class at UD and why?

My favorites have to be my CORE classes. CORE is an interdisciplinary program that teaches different topics through a combination of philosophy, English, religion and history. I have always loved the humanities, and being able to study a variety of different topics through this lens has given me a thorough, holistic understanding of my studies.

What piece of your academic journey has most prepared you to begin a career after graduation?

My experience in the DC Flyers program has been an incredible way to prepare for my future. DC Flyers sends 10 students to Washington, D.C., every summer to pursue internships without worrying about housing and living expenses. I spent my summer living in D.C. with an internship in the U.S. Senate. I made incredible connections, gained valuable work experience in politics and learned so much more than I could have in a classroom.

What clubs/organizations are you involved in at UD?

  • Mock Trial
  • Residential Housing Association (VP of Advocacy)
  • Phi Alpha Delta
  • CORE Program

Why did you choose UD?

I chose UD because it felt like home when I first visited campus. Many of my family members have gone here, so it felt like where I was meant to be. Finding out about the different opportunities available and how hard UD works to help their students succeed sealed the deal.

Is there anything else about your UD experience you think prospective students and their families should know?

UD is what you make of it. We have incredible support systems, opportunities and community that are yours for the taking. There is something for everyone here. You just have to go for it.
