What do you like most about your major?

History is an extremely versatile subject that's connected to every other subject taught at UD. You can learn the history of your country, your faith, your economic system, the technology you use and the diverse world around us. There's always something to learn from looking at the past, and there's always even more that hasn't been discovered or properly documented.

What do you love most about UD?

The people. All of the professors, even the ones I've never taken classes from, are really passionate about what they teach, and they really support us as students to succeed. All of my peers are amazing, as well. Even though we all come from different places and are here to do different things, we all support each other and are genuinely kind and compassionate.

Favorite class at UD and why?

While I've liked just about everything I've taken, I think my first year in the CORE program has been my favorite class so far. The ability to look at history through an interdisciplinary lens provides a really unique perspective on all of the different topics we discussed, many of which were completely new to me. I definitely made lifelong friends through the program, as well.

What clubs/organizations are you involved in at UD?

  • University Honors Program
  • CORE Program
  • Flyer Pep Band
  • Pokémon GO Club (founding member, president)
  • Spectrum

Why did you choose UD?

After going on a tour of the university, I got a chance to go to a UD basketball game. Watching the student section and Pep Band chanting and going crazy, I knew I had to be down there someday. The energy was so infectious, it pulled me in. Now that I'm in the Flyer Pep Band, I hope that I'm able to inspire aspiring Flyers.

Is there anything else about your UD experience you think prospective students and their families should know?

Don't let any stigmas about the University's religious affiliation dissuade you. The student population is incredibly diverse and welcoming, no matter your beliefs, background or identity.
